Where I Work (An Attempt at Poetry)

Where I work
spirit is extinguished
talent muzzled, yet virtued
strategy dulled
and noise drowns out the signal.

Where I work
next day is yesterday
time tortuous, yet wasted
mission worshipped
but soon it is forgotten.

  1. Brilliant!
One of my co-workers describes out workplace: “everyday I lose a little bit of my soul”.
While we work for an organization delivering a public good….the "goings on" and politics crush the optimism out of you.

Have your read 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan Peterson. Ignore the critics I found it insightful.

Also try Homo Deus or Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari

Don’t look for anything but money from work and pursue your real interests\passion elsewhere.

    1. Homo Deus is on my reading list! I heard a good interview with the author on the James Altucher podcast a few months ago. I will have to check out 12 Rules for Life. Thanks for the tip!
